I suffered a fatal disk crash and was forced to "rebuild" my system from the
ground up, since a normal restore from my Retrospect Backup was not a
disaster recovery set, and therefore not bootable. I had to first install
Windows XP, upgrade to SP2 (my current level at backup), and then reload
Retrospect and do a recovery. I regained all my programs and files, but,
when I went to open Outlook Express, lo and behold there were no folders,
and Windows prompted me to establish a new email account.
I know that my old email folders are on my drive somewhere, since Retrospect
restored all my data, but the rebuild of XP seemed to wipe out my old
outlook express setup. If anyone can suggest a way of retrieving these old
folders, address books, etc., I would be eternally grateful. This was one of
the major reasons for my restore, rather than just reinstalling the programs
again, and I have mail and addresses that are invaluable to my business.
Any help would truly be appreciated. Thanks.
