View Full Version : Accessing same mail folders from 2 XP accounts

Delores

Hello group,

I have some friends using Windows XP and OE6.

They each have their own Windows login, so they can have different
desktops, etc.

I wondered if there is a way to allow each login to access the same
E-mail data.

I thought perhaps setting up the E-mail on one login and then changing
the other login's OE store folder. Have not tried this yet.

Can anyone tell me if that will work and if not, suggest a solution ?

Thnk you in advance for any help you can offer.

You can do that but you would best be served to move the message stores to a
central location (C:\Mail) , set the permissions on the folder and the files
then set up the second account to use the same registry settings as the
first one.

Set up the mail accounts then export the following registry keys and import
into the second account.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Accounts Manager
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB

On the Address Book, I would suggest you move it to a central location as
well then edit the subkey for it to direct it to that path.

Hello DGuess,

Thank you for the reply and suggestions. I did as you outlined and it
worked wonderfully.
