View Full Version : Group from Addressee List?

Lesley Rogers
I have received an email addressed to a large number of people in a club. I
would like to be able to create a group in my address book with the
addresses of all the people that received the email.

Can I do this without adding them to my address book one at a time, and then
moving them to the group?

Thank you.

Hi Lesley,

(pasted, but changed slightly of a previous post)

Outlook Express does not provide a way to save all the addresses at one
time. One workaround involves creating a comma-separated values file which
would take much time. It involves copying all the addresses to a new Notepad
document and placing them each on a line with the first line being "E-mail
Address" . The characters (<>;) could each be removed by
replacing them with nothing.

There's more to the instructions, but I think you'll agree that this would
be arduous. The only benefit is the list could be imported into a temporary,
or stand alone, address book and copied to a group folder (without having to
pick them out for the group folder). The addresses would also be in the Main
Contacts folder. Another benefit is there would be a permanent backup CSV
file. Also as an alternative, the entries in a CSV file could be imported
into a stand alone
Windows Address Book to keep them separate.

To Create a Stand Alone Address Book

Click Start, click Run, and type: wab /new
