Whenever I plug my JVC mini DV into my computer with the usb, nothing shows
up. It detects the camera, but when i thry to use wmm1, nothing shows up on
the little screen. It doesn't work on my friends computer eithr. when i click
on the RECORD icon and the little box pops up it says video: <none>
audio: line in
is it my camera or firewire? i'm so confused because it doesn't work on any
other editing programs.

Have you tried connecting the MiniDV camcorder via firewire?

I have not. I only used the plug that came with the camera, is it supposed to
work or do i need to buy a different one?

The USB cable is probably only for your memory card - my guess is you have a
camcorder that shoots stills as well?
As Cari said - you need an iLink or IEEE-1394 or Firewire cable (all three
names are commonly used for the same cable)

One more thing - since you mention a button called "RECORD" you probably
have not upgraded to MM2 you probably have 1 that came with XP. If you
install XPSP2 you will get the newest version - 2.1
