View Full Version : MSoffice not working
Sergio 05-25-2004, 04:31 PM In our organization serveral machines are presenting a
malfunction on office applications, I have found in the
registry of those machines a message like this one:
"Detection of product '{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-
006097C998E7}', feature 'OUTLOOKFiles' failed during
request for component '{059EA861-8892-11D1-87B9-
00AA00A71E2D}' "
Thanks we are doing that, but what I'm trying to find is
the root cause because in my organization several machines
are being affected by this problem.
I have not found any common pattern between them prior the
error.

A search of the registry, for the 'entries given ie {00010409......etc' may
yield a clue.
Any OL addins / comms installed?

How was Office installed? If it wasn't set up to run all applications from
the local computer, this may be part of your problem....

The same thing is happening in our organization, on both our Terminal
Server and several regular desktops (including mine, and I'm a domain
admin so permissions aren't a problem). We use Office XP and Windows
2000.
The funny thing is, it never happened to us until recently, and none
of us can think of a single change to the network which would be even
remotely related. I've tried wiping every last trace of Office XP from
my system and the registry. But on every logon the group policy
software installation box will come up and all I can do is cancel.
