View Full Version : Layered Hidden Message

In just the past week, everytime I shut down my computer
(Windows 2000 Professional), I receive a message box with
a title reading "Layered Hidden Window" and that the
computer is waiting for this window to finish shutting
down.

What is this? I have run several spyware and virus
programs. I still receive the message.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Ian

I've seen something similar with a java program, running under javaw.exe

Something to try is close all your programs *and tray icons* first, then
shut down. If the message does not pop up then keep doing this with your
apps one at a time, process of elimination.

Make a backup first, and then try removing programs one at a time from the
Startup group, and from these registry keys:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
