My tape drive will not read the system state after being restored to an
alternate location. This server is a Windows 2000 Seerver that was
upgraded froma NT 4.0 Server. It is at the latest service pack
level.Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Sorry, but that is not very clear. Can you re-word that?

Sorry, When I try to do a restore to an alternate location from my dds4
tape drive . The tape drive cant read the system state on the tape.

Is this not a problem isolated to the tape media, and the tape drive?
I am sorry, I don't see the connection to the OS specifically here.
If possible can you restore the entire BKF file to hard disk first?
The BKF may of course be corrupted. I don't think this is likely a
registry issue with my current understanding of the problem.
