Hi all,
I want to record with the Sound Recorder that comes with WIndows XP. The
program offers a few recording formats like PCM, CCITT A-Law, CCITT U-Law
and more. I have a few questions regarding that:

1. Does this format refers to the format stored on the disk or to the sound
that captured from the microphone?
2. Is there any "C" api to convert formats?
3. What is the most popular format used today in music applications, in
instant messenger application(if there is any)?

Thanks in advance for any reference to my quetions.

Greg

1 - Format stored on the HD
2 - You might try sophisticated sw such as Cool Edit Pro
3 - For music it has always been .wav
