I have managed to setup my 2003 .net server domain which works okay in the
office. However I try to access the server from say a Hotel room and I get
the following message :

DNS was successfully queried for the service location (SRV) resource record
used to locate a domain controller for domain
netserv.networkedcomputers.co.uk:

The query was for the SRV record for
_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.netserv.networkedcomputers.co.uk

The following domain controllers were identified by the query:

serv.netserv.networkedcomputers.co.uk

Common causes of this error include:

- Host (A) records that map the name of the domain controller to its IP
addresses are missing or contain incorrect addresses.

- Domain controllers registered in DNS are not connected to the network or
are not running.

================

My server ip is 192.168.100.50
Gateway ip is the router which is 192.168.100.1
I have set my network card dns to 192.168.100.50
also the router has the dns set to 192.168.100.50

==================

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me into the right
direct. Preferably in laymans terms.
Thanks guys

You cannot logon to the domain until you create a VPN connection to the
domain. Create the VPN the check the box "Logon using dial up connection"
before logging on to the domain or disconnect the network connection first.
If you disconnect from the network it will use cached credentials to logon.
