I am wondering if there is a proper way to tear down a DFS structure?

We are using a Domain DFS Root. It was used for redundancy of file shares
that are dupicated on 2 file servers. These servers i beleive are in 'sync'
but now i wish to consilidate them onto a new single server.

Any suggestions or warnings before i go about doing this?
