I recall some netware problems in the past which were resolved by Novell
issuing a patch.
I do not know if they would apply in your circumstance, but I'd try asking
them first.

We're not using the full blown Netware client, so I think you're right that
it wouldn't apply in this circumstance. We're just using the Microsoft
Client for Netware Services.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

It might be a problem with the Netware services. I'd contact their customer
support.
