I have been successfully automating the PowerPoint Viewer 97 for years via
the msppt8vr.olb library installed with the viewer. However, no such library
file is installed with the Viewer 2003.

How can I automation the PowerPoint Viewer 2003?

It doesn't expose an object model, unfortunately. It doesn't seem that you can
automate it.
