I'm junking my old HP Pavilion which has Office 2003 Pro (legally
purchased upgrade version to Office 97 which was also a legally
purchased upgrade version). I plan to wipe the disk clean.

Will I have any problems installing the Office 2003 Pro upgrade version
on the new computer if it comes pre-loaded with MS Works? Will the
online activation/authorization process complete successfully?
Anything else I need to be aware of?

Thanks!

Have all of your previous version disks and product keys handy.

Miss JoAnn thank you for your timely reply. One quick question,
though: will the Word97 disk be necessary or can it be upgraded from
the pre-installed MS Works? It's not a problem because I have both
CDs, but I'm trying to avoid unnecessary steps if at all possible.
Thanks!

I'm not sure - I don't have Works. I *think* it can but I'd suggest having
everything handy just in case.

Your subject references Office XP, your message references Office 2003.
Which one is it?
