My c:\drive has become too full of stuff I don't use and don't need. Is
there any way to completely deinstall things like Windows Media Player
with its 30 mB of associated files and/or Outlook Express with its
associated files?

The 'deinstall' arrangements in Control Panel seem to just delete access
to both of these programs rather than effect a complete deinstall which
would free up valuable hard drive space.

There seems to be no interest in the Microsoft communities newsgroups in
removing Media Player. On the other hand KB263837 spells out clearly
the somewhat complex procedure for getting rid of Outlet Express. Media
Player takes up some 30 mB or so so that, if it is not used, it is
desirable to deinstall it.

OTOH drive space is quite inexpensive these days.

That assumes, of course, that one wants to take on the task of replacing
a drive and reloading all software. Getting rid of all those non-used
Windows Media Player files would be a much simpler solution to my
current problem.

You don't have too reload all of your software. If money isn't a big issue,
get a new drive and some sort of drive cloning software like Norton Ghost.
You can clone your boot drive to your new drive and off you go - with heaps
of extra space!
