okay...i got 4 users logging in locally. (they actually log in to novell,
but that's really not the issue). as we're killing novell, we want to move
their personal docs off of the novell server and onto a new w2k3 server. so,
we have created new domain accounts for these 4. 3 of them went swimmingly,
like this:
join pc to domain. log in with user's domain account. log out and log in as
admin. go to the registry; hklm\sw\ms\wnt\cv\profile list. from there, you
find the sid of the new, domained account and change the value to point to
the old, local profile. restart the pc and log in as user. the domained
account now has all the old local account's desktop, settings, etc.
like i said, this worked great for 3 of the users. this one user,
though...every time i try this, when i log in as the user, instead of
accepting the new account with the old profile, it creates a new account
(user.domain.000, user.domain.001, user.domain.002, etc).
i hope i've explained this well enough and that someone might be able to
help me get past this.
thx,
evan
