Hello,

I would like to apply the hotfix discussed at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324446/en-us - "Terminal Server and connected
Terminal Services clients pause when a Terminal Services client logs on or
logs off" - as we are experiencing those exact issues with our Citrix server.

However, part of the process refers me to KB811392 -
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811392/) "Obtain the Dskcache.exe Tool to
Configure the "Power Protected" Write Cache Option", when I try to use the
dskcache.exe and instructed I encounter one of the errors listed on the KB
which basically tells me that I will not be able to configure the Power
Protected Write Cache option on that drive.

But I would really like to apply the original hotfix.

What I am really wanteing to ask is do you think I could apply the hotfix
and make the registry changes without configuring the Power Protected Write
Cache option?

Any advice or thoughts from people would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Christian

I'd call product support to see what they say. The call is free.

Where would I find the freephone product support number? the information I
find on http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support give an 0870
number and going through the links to a more specific section talk about
paid-for support calls.

Sorry if I'm being a bit blind.

I'd call one of these numbers, give them the hotfix article ID and the
charges will be waived.
