View Full Version : Registry entries gone after reboot on Windows 2003 Server

Some (but not all) of my software installation registry changes are gone
after a reboot on a Windows 2003 Server cluster. I have never seen this
before. I don't think it has anything to do with a corrupted registry
because it is happening on both machines in the cluster.

I heard that this might have something to do with Group Policy but I haven't
got the slightest idea where to start looking.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

Run the Group Policy Management Console
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a6d4c24-8cbd-4b35-9272-dd3cbfc81887&DisplayLang=en)
against your AD, it will tell what if any GPOs exist.

Any GPO that is applied to the OU where you nodes reside - even from the
Domain level.

Try this - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;323276 as
opposed to GPMC.
