Hello, I have a pc with windows 2000 pro, I have a lexmark z611 printer
hooked up via usb to it. I am trying to share the printer wireless through my
dsl modem/router, with a notebook that has windows xp media center. I can
file share with the two, and file and print share with others computers in my
home, but when I try to install the printer on the notebook, it does not see
the printer hooked up to the pc with windows 2000 pro. Can this be done? If
so Anyone know how?

Thanks for the info. I have covered all the basics, I turned on printer
shareing, and in the network, and dial up conections, I added neworking
components from the windows 2000 pro cd. I added the networking services.
management and monitoring tools, and the other network file and print
services. I tried to install the printer that is pluged into the windows 2000
pc on a wireless notebook with windows xp media center, and the xp media
center notebook does not see the printer on the windows 2000 pc. I am trying
to find something on microsoft.com, and other newsgroups, but I am not
comming up with anything that is going to help me, or anything that I have
not allready done.

as far as the user name and password being added as a user account on the
windows 2000 pc, I am not sure if I had done that. can you explain how, so I
can make sure that I have that base coverd, I do not remember doing that, but
I might have along the way. I have forgoten some of the things I have done. I
read the link that you posted, and It seams it is for windows 95,98 and
windows 2000. I will mess around with it again, I see what I can do. Thanks
for the help.
