Hi,
Both of my Windows 2003 servers can NO LONGER able to add local printers.
The feature is gray-out/disabled in the Add Printer Wizards. It looks
like I don't have the rights to do it.
I tried signon locally as local admin or signon to the domain as domain
admin. Same problem.
Not too long ago, I added a local TCP/IP port printer on the same server
without any troubles?
Not sure if it is just me or everybody has the similar problem.
Please help me before I paid $100 to email Microsoft.
Thank You.

Is the policy that disables adding printers enabled for your accounts?
If this policy gets enabled for users, it does not matter if you are admin.
on the server machine run rsop.msc
look under User Configuration, Administrative templates, Control Panel,
Printers, Prevent addition of printers.
If it's enabled, you can track down the policy and excluded the users who
should be able to add printers. If even the local Admin is affected, it may
just be the local policy.
