I have a CD with a 2003 PPT program with wav sound. it works in my computer
but not in another computer. I can play a music CD from the same computer and
get sound, but it wont play the sound from my slide presentation. The slide
presentation works great.
We both have Windows XP and the PPT viewer.
Any suggestions?
Have a look here
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

thanks for the help. Since the pc that I have the problem with is not
available right now I'll have to wait to try this. I'm assuming the changes
you suggested I do on her computer, not on mine.

The link below provides you some ways to re-edit your presentation, so it
can play with the sound on other computers.

Hi
You need to change the settings on YOUR computer.
Two ways to embed wav files
Increase the setting in Tools > Options > General "link sounds with file
size greater than" to 50000.
Insert the sound as a transition sound (scroll down to other sound)
In both cases you must reinsert the sound for it to work
There's a lot more info / tutorials on our site

Did that answer the question / help?

For the future you can check that a sound is embedded by right clicking the
speaker icomn and going to "edit sound" Look where it says file > "contained
in program" = embedded, a path = linked

Thanks John, What I found was that if the person had PPT software I could
change the settings & the music would play. I did as you said and re-inserted
the music on the slide presentation.
But the problem still exists with a pc that only has the 2003 power pt viewer.
They can play music CD's and on the options everything is checked to work.
I have the show set up to play automatically and to loop. It plays fine on
my computer.
Do you have any other suggestions?
I really appreciate your help.
