YES I know this is for Win XP but this has been posted in the Win2k group
for a week and no answers. Sorry

the game will play fine in single player, but when trying to log online the
disc will not authenticate. e-mail tech support and they said to try and
redo the numbers. went thought that and no joy. dumped the computer and
reloaded just the administrator account and re installed the game still not
work. went and did all of the updates and still no joy. have set up port
forwarding and DMZ. but no matter what I can not get the disc to
authenticate for online play. all other online games play fine and some of
them are EA's underground 2 hot pursuit 2. EA's tech support is a total
joke one of there steps is to try the disc on another computer so why put
serial numbers on the games?

Gigabyte 7NNXP
AMD 3200
1gb Geil Dual channel
2X Raptors RAID
1 DVDRW
1 CDRW
Win 2k sp 4

Hi Bigdawg,

Are you getting any error messages when you attempt to install the game?
Are you getting that error during the installation process, or in other words,
are you getting that error while typing in your CD Installation Key?

No per say error messages. The game will install , load and play fine. the
problem starts when attempting to play on-line. you don t put in the cd Key
until you want to play on line then you set up an account with e-mail
address and password that's when you put in the key. Ok maybe I forgot my
account info So I had them e-mail to to me and tried both names with both
pass words the same thing happens. you have to log on to the EA server
that's says Unable to Authenticate CD please make sure you have typed the
numbers properly or something to that affect. in single player if is ok I
don't know about LAN play because I only have it install on 1 computer its
the network play that we use to play that I want. I have not changed
anything in my network its like some small ini or dll is stopping me from
logging on to the EA Server

Hi Bigdawg,

It would be irresponsible of me not to mention that if there are any
o's in your CD Key, find out if it's the number 0 or the letter O.
