We are starting to experience a problem when users are logging on to their
systems first thing in the morning. When they use CTRL+ALT+DEL and enter
their password the desktop doesn't come up. If they do CTRL+ALT+DEL again
and choose Log Off and then do CTRL+ALT+DEL and enter their password the
system comes up as normal.

All of the clients are XP Pro with SP1 or SP2 on a Windws 2003 domain, with
2 DCs in each subnet, and the problem seems to be gradually getting worse.

Forgot to mention that we are not using roaming profiles and that "the
desktop doesn't come up" means that there are no icons or taskbar when
trying to login.
