I see lots of ads for Registry Cleaners, such as Uniblue Registry Booster at
http://www.liutilities.com/products/registrybooster/. Are these types of
programs helpful? Can anyone link me to a website where I can get more
info?

They are NOT suggested. Use of one *may* cause more problems that not using one at all.
