My husband has a separate account on our computer. I use it for work and
therefore have many icons. Whenever my husband logs into his account, my
icons get moved around. I've tried locking/unlocking/aligning to
grid/everything I can think of. Is there any way to prevent this from
happening?

Thanks.

In addition to your accounts or profiles Windows provides a profile that
affects all end users. Typically when you install programs their
corresponding icons are placed in the area where every end user will have
access to them. This includes the Windows Desktop, Start menu, and Program
Folder.

Most likely it is the icons in this area of the computer that your husband s
moving around. This involves creating icons for you and your husband and
removing them from the "All Users" area of the computer.

User profiles reside in c:\documents and settings

So the location of the Desktop icons that are accessible by both you and
your husband are located at:

c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop

You have to create a copy of these icons on both your Desktop and your
husbands desktop, then remove them from the "All Users" profile.
