(Sorry for cross posts)
I have Win2k and MS Intellimouse 1.2 (ball, wired)
When I click the drop-down list on IExplorer Address Bar the cursor starts
to move randomly when the mouse is moved. ie the mouse may be moved dowm
but the cursor could set off in any direction!!
From then the keyboard and mouse don't behave at all! As the cursor moves
around, it moves within a little square 'window' which exposes the desktop
below.
Happily I can restart the computer with [Windows][U][R]

Any more ideas, please?

Sounds like a driver issue.
