Moved from a 98E to an XP machine. MFC has a parallel, XP has USB.
Purchased a Parallel to USB cable with driver CD. Supposed to be built-in
driver. Can't seam to install from CD or locate built-in. Any help out
there?

Brother don't support this unit under XP:

You might be able to get it to work using some of the other MFC drivers....
try the closest number to 4600 that you can find.

If not, it's time to think about something newer, with a USB connection.
The old LPT MFC Brother units were designed for WIndows 3.1 and 95. They've
had their day.

The latest brother downloadable drivers for the MFC 4600 are for win2k. They
may or may not work properly with XP or XP-SP1. I doubt that they will work
with XP-SP-2
Parallel to usb adapter cables seldom work with multifunction devices. I
would think that the best chance of getting anything to work would be a
win2k printer driver intended for network use.
