View Full Version : no sound from CD headphone jack

Hi,

When using a music CD, the sound comes out properly through speakers
attached to the sound card. However, I can't get any sound when plugging in
headphones to the headphone jack on the CD player itself. There's a volume
knob on the CD player itself - when I turn the volume to max, I can hear a
low static hiss, but no music through the headphones.

The headphones are fine.

Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Stephen

I expect that what is happening is that Windows is playing the music
digitally. To get output from the headphone jack, you need to use a program
which plays analog music. I think Media Player uses digital and the
CDPlayer uses analog.
