Hi just a quickie question.....

Im considering adding a DVD recorder to my Pentium 3 (600Mhz). While the
various models out there list 1.3 or 4 ghz as a minimum, could I still use
one knowing that it would not be able to record at top speed? Or is this
the absolute bare minimum for it to work even at its lowest speed?

I'd think you had better check with the manufacturer's requirements as your
best assurance.
Shop the websites of DVD brands and browse the models they offer. The
requirements will generally be posted along with the features of each model.
If not, inquire for specifics by their contact email address.

I have a DVD writer in an 800 MHz machine and it works fine. The
fastest I've run it is at 4x because that's the speed of the disk I happen
to have. It has no trouble running at that speed. If you try to run at too
high a speed, you'll get more stop/starts but even then the disks should be
usable.
