View Full Version : .NET FrameWork 3.0 installation

Hi all,
I am trying to install the .NET FrameWork 3.0. I launch the "dotnetfx3.exe",
check the agreement termes box and click next. The window disapears (I don't
have a taskbar and therefore I can't see if any icon exists in the systray).

I supervise the CPU usage and the running processes. After 4 minutes the
activity goes down and the installation seems to be terminated but 2
processes "dotnetfx3.exe" and "setup.exe" are still running.

When I check the windows logs, I found a "Product: Microsoft .NET FrameWork
3.0 -- Installation completed successfully." from "MsiInstaller" source.
The two processes never end.

I found 2 interesting log files: "dd_dotnetfx3error.txt" which is empty and
"dd_dotnetfx3install.txt" which contains only failures like "WapUI:
ISetupManager::GetGlobalCustomProperty() failed to find global property in
CProgressPage::RunningComponent()".

I assume that there is no critical error but how can I know if the entire
package is installed?
Can I kill the 2 remaining processes?

Thanks for your help.

Are you using Update Rollup 1.0?

No.
If using Update Rollup 1.0 would resolve this issue, I will have another
problem: How to install the .NET FrameWork 3.0 on thousands of already
deployed systems ?

This is where the iDiff tool can help out. You can upgrade the systems in
the field with just a patch.
