View Full Version : Routers

Mazzie
I am sharing my Cable modem with another person in another apartment in my
building with a Linksys Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch and just about
every week we both loose our Internet connection.

I have to disconnect and reconnect the AC connection to both the router and
Cable modem and somehow that works. Can anyone please help me resolve this
issue.

Thank you.

Mazzie
Actually when I disconnect my computer from the router and connect straight
to the Cable Modem I have internet access, it just seems to be when I am
connected to the router that I have these problems.

Matt
Try updating the routers firmware.

I believe Linksys cable/DSL routers are known for the intermittent
disconnections. If the firmware update doesn't help, you may have to
try another router. I've used Netgear and D-link without such
problems.

If the router has a log it saves, you could examine that.
