View Full Version : DHCP

Steve Arndt
Some Windows machines on the network cannot find the DHCP
server when they attempt to renew their lease or are
renewed manually. Others do not appear to have a
problem. This started after a rogue dhcp server was
introduced into the network, but the problem did not
resolve itself after the rogue server was removed.
When I hard code an IP address into the 2000 machine, it
can ping the DHCP server without a problem.

My XP Pro laptop obtains an address immediately.

Problem solved. DHCP was out of addresses due to my
failure to establish a superscope.
