View Full Version : Authentication Speed Dilemma

I have 25 sites with router based VPN over DSL to our home office. AD and
WINS are at that office. Logins are painfully slow, up to a minute. I've
made sure that the node type is Hybrid, and have LMHOSTS configured.

My application requires the ability to rapidly log in and out.

Any suggestions?

If the client PCs are 2K, you'd would be much better off using DNS or a
local HOSTS file. 2K will attempt to name resolution there first.
