View Full Version : Can not map drive name to my ftp connection

michi
Hello there...

I set up an ftp connection to my server. This connection is now
visible and accesable inside my explorer under the network tree.
However when i want to map a drive letter to that ftp connection, I
cannot. I can select the ftp drive and it opens all folders inside
that ftp drive but the "OK" button is always disabled?

How can I map a letter to my drive.

My Administrator did extensive testing. He also set all security righs
to "anyone" but I still could not map the drive letter

Thanks for helping

You can't map a drive letter to an ftp or http location. The resource has to
be accessible via UNC: \\SERVER\SHARE or \\ipaddress\SHARE

Use the Add Network Place option under My Network Places. You can then
access these under Windows Explorer and in dialogs of most newer
applications.
