Computer: Toshiba Portege 266, 64 MB
OS: Windows2000 w sp4
Cards: Xircom Credit II PS PCMCIA Ethernet Cards, 10BT
Peculiarity: One card set with static address, and connected to the
network. The other card left to DHCP and disconnected. After reboot, the
computer didn't work in a server publishing rule in a separate ISA server.
I went to command line in a working computer and pinged the Portege, and got
a DHCP address response instead of the static address. I went into the
computer and examined the network configuration of the cards. One card had
been named Use This One and it was connected to the ethernet. The other
card was named This One Also Works and was not connected. Examination
showed that the TCP/IP configuration that was previously assigned to Use
This One is now assigned to This One Also Works, and Use This One now is set
to use DHCP. Anyone seen this before?
