I've been trying to publish some existing shared printers in Active
Directory but have not had much success. If I look at the printer
properties, I get the message "The directory operation may take
several minutes." It's been about 12 hours now and I still get the
same message.

We are running in a Windows 2003 AD environment and the printers are
all attached to a Windows 2000 member server.

I've checked the DNS settings on each of the printers and they are set
to point to the correct DNS server.

If I add a printer to my XP workstation and share it, it shows up in
AD immediately.

When using ADU&C and viewing the users and computers as containers,
the printers on the member server do not show up, but the one from my
workstation does.

What am I missing here?
