View Full Version : can we remove a user from "EVERYONE" group

sphilip
i need to create 6 users in our domain but they should not
be in the everyone group, due to access rights. how do i
remove them from the everyone group.

You can't add or remove users from the Everyone group.

You will have to create an appropriate group and use this group to assign
permissions to, then add or remove users from this group.

Alternatively you can create a group, put these 6 users in it and set deny
permissions on the resouces you don't want them to access. Even though they
are granted access via the Everyone group, the Deny permission overrides
this.

I suggest you sit down and plan your directory structure because down the
line you are going to end up with a big mess. Instead of trying to exclude
people from "everyone" you should create a group that contains only the
people you want and give THAT group the appropriate access.

In my experience, the "Everyone" is used very sparingly.
