Hi there.
I somehow wans't able to complete the process of installing the AD on
my one_an_only server (he told me o some error and rebooted), so the
situation is the system thinks he's in some domain but the domain
doesn't exist.
I now want to get rid of AD on the w2k-server.
If I run "dcpromo /forceremoval" I'm not able to get rid of the AD.
The first option is to check the option for "last DC in the domain"
(which it realy is) - I'm then asked about username, password and
domain. But if I enter the usernaem password and domain I get an error
saying the domain doesen't exist (it realy doesn't exist).
If I uncheck the "last DC in the domain" I get asked for a password
but also get an error message saying there is no DC for my domain.
Am getting desperate - any hope of me getting out of this circle?
