Hank,

By definition, once you dcpromo a WIN2000 Server to become a Domain
Controller you are installing Active Directory. You can not have one
without the other!

Ok Thanks ... but how about if i want to use Microsoft Exchange 2000 .
i think the major requirement is applying
active directory ???? which in my case is not needed
so what will be the solution for using Exchange2000 without AD is i
possible ??

No. Exchange 2000 requires AD.
