View Full Version : Netlogon Errors

Jeff
I am seeing a large number of the following errors in AD:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5722
Date: 3/24/2004
Time: 7:51:29 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MYDC
Description:
The session setup from the computer COMPUTERA failed to authenticate. The
name of the account referenced in the security database is COMPUTERA$. The
following error occurred:
Access is denied.
Data:
0000: 22 00 00 c0 "..À

What does this error mean? How can I troubleshoot what is going on?

Thanks,

Jeff

Rejoin the computer account to AD and see if that resolves this issue.

Looks like the computer's account password is out of sync, or a new
password a computer wants is being rejected by AD.

Make sure that the computers being reported in the error messages are
still part of the domain. If they aren't, you should rejoin them to the
domain. If it keeps up, you will need to determine the root cause of
the password failures.
