View Full Version : automatically generated connection question

bruce
some illumination please...

we have several sites. everything is replicating OK. Just curious, every
server has at least one connection that is
reciprocated on the other end. However, a few servers have extra
connections that aren't.

For example, server A has a connection to B. B has connections to A & C. C
has connections to A & B. There is no connection on A for C.

What does this mean? Does this signify that server C's connection to A is
import or export only?

TIA

Hi Bruce,

The Knowledge Consistency Checker makes these connections. You can delete
all of these connection objects and run Repadmin /KCC, this will rebuild
these objects. The connections are from Server when viewed within the GUI.
Repadmin /showreps will let you see the incoming connections when run from
each DC. Your best AD replication test is making an object in C and see if
it replicates to A.
