View Full Version : Movetree

When I do a cross domain move using move tree It fails
saying "ERROR: 0x54f An internal error occurred.

MoveTree cross domain move failed. The extended error is
0000054F:"

I've checked the syntax, and everything is fine. Any
reasons to why this is happening?

Movetree can only be used to move objects between domains in the same
forest, are you trying to do an inter-forest move perhaps?

Can you answer a few questions about this issue?
Is the Source domain 2000 or 2003?
Is the Target domain 2000 or 2003?
What OS is the computer you are initiating the move from?
Which Domain is the computer you are initiating the move from in?
Have you installed Critical Update Q835732 (MS04-011)?
and finally...
If you run ADSIEdit on the SOURCE domain, and look at the lockoutTime value
for the user you are trying to migrate. Is the value:
, 0, or some big long nasty number?

I'm having the same issue:

ERROR: 0x54f An internal error occurred.
MoveTree cross domain move failed. The extended error is 0000054F
SvcErr: DSID-031B02F3, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), data 0

However, I seem to be able to move groups and newly created users jus
fine.

Our source and destination domains are both 2000 Native. The command i
being run on a workstation running XP pro where the computer is in th
destination domain but the user running the command is in the sourc
domain. I believe the Update has been applied to all computer
involved

I have the same error.
Source and Destination are native 2000 domains. XP is os where I'm ts'ing
into the servers. RID master of source is where move is initiated going to
RID master of destination. MS04-011 is installed.

ADSIEdit says lockoutTime is 0.

So what is the problem?
