How can I configure security so that a Power User can run performance logs
and alerts?
This is on a W2K server. The users are in the local power users group.
When they go to admin tools | performance, they can see and set up system
monitoring but they can't access performance logs and alerts to set up
logging. When they attempt to open perf logs and alers they get error msg
' the perf logs and alerts svc has not been installed on the local computer.
The service will be installed the first time that an administrator opens
perf logs and alerts. On this server, administrators have already logged in
and started perf logs, but this still won't work for power users.
I've checked the ntfs perms for the service and .exe and it looks like they
have adequate permissions for this. Is there some kind of system policy
that prevents non-administrative users from running performance logs and
alerting?
Thanks for any help.
