View Full Version : Ad & AdWare

Patrick Whittle
I have been unable to get rid of my new default home page in IE 6.0.28
version. Beware of the URL below, as it will become your permanent home
page.

http://ww9.linklist.cc/index.php?aid=20037

#1. Have you ever seen this URL?
#2. Where in the registry is this stored?

Mike Burgess
Patrick,
linklist.cc = Coolwebsearch trojan

How to remove Coolwebsearch and affiliates

Use this version of CWShredder 1.55.0 (updated today)
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

Note: this type hijack indicates an unpatched machine, that is lacking
in "Defense". Please visit Windows Update to avoid these exploits.

Note: be *sure* to follow-up with HijackThis
Post back with the URL where you posted if you want help with your log.

always ban these sites so you do not add to their hit
counts and give them money. Then, at the worst, if
redirected there you get a blank page and they get nothing.
