Hi,
Our NAS is hosted by Windows 2000. (Note the NAS is not
suffering any disk problems) Recently we've found users
loosing rights to individual files. "Re-Taking ownership"
seemed to fix the problem. Then it kept occuring. We
took ownership of the whole share.... That didn't help.
Then we also began to see users loosing access to their
home folders, we adding them back manually.
Question: Is their a tool that repairs rights on NTFS?
Also, is there a tool that will repair the Active
Directory DB? With Novell we had DSrepair and Vrepair to
take care of the Directory and file system. What similar
tools are their in MS?
We find that over the last 18 months (since we've moved to
AD) we're constantly fixing rights failure problems with
MS.
Thanks,
B
