View Full Version : Trojan Hunter

Hi all:

Please advice. I need a software package that excels at detecting trojans
and can scan registry also. We are currently using Norton Anti Virus
Corporate Edition. As far I am concerned It is totally useless at detecting
trojans.

Thank you

Hi

IMO, TDS-3 is the best Trojan Hunter around. It's not free but there's a
trial download here http://www.diamondcs.com.au/

As far as I'm concerened, most antivirus utilities are completely useless.
In addition to the software phoenix suggested, I'm going to suggest Spybot
Search & Destroy - it finds everything.
There is also moosofts' "The Cleaner" - a classic.
The Cleaner can run in the background similiar to an antiviruses TSR-ish
capabilities, rather than just detect trojans when scanning.
It can monitor your registry, open files, and open ports [sort of] and see
if there is anything that shouldn't be running.
Between the two, however, I'll suggest Spybot.
If you haven't already, I also suggest filtering outgoing ports on your edge
routers to keep the popular IRC based trojans off of the net.
