Hi

I hope, that I am in the correct newsgroup, if not, pls. tell me, where I have to go.

How is WindowsUpdate Working, if a patch require a restart
Means, if my system gets a new patch, which requires a restart after Installtion, in which state will my system be?
Will any parts of the patch be applied before restarting, or will the complete activation of the patch happened after the restart?

It depends on the patch/update...some will finish installation after you
restart & go back into Windows (such as IE6 SP1), some will apply
immediately & not do so. I'd post in m.p.windowsupdate if you have more
questions on WU....if you're concerned about a specific patch, mention it by
name.
