View Full Version : Can't disable Internet Connection Sharing

Dan G
I want to disable internet connection sharing on the
wireless connection on my laptop running Windows 2000.

However when I select the internet connection and click on
properties, the screen that appears for that connection
does not have a networking tab, so it is impossible to
disable sharing for that connection.

I have a similar connection setup on desktop running
Windows XP - in this case the sharing option does not
appear on the tab.

Why is this happening, and what can I do?

See the link below that may help. Try the "advanced" page of network properties and
make sure you are logged on as an administrator. --- Steve

Thanks - the problem is that on XP the option to disable
internet sharing does not appear on the advanced page.
Similarly on W2000 I do not see the Networking tab at all,
even when logged in as an administrator.

OK. Don'y really know what the problem is then. I have not used ICS on XP. You might
want to post on the XP networking newsgroup. I bet someone there knows. --- Steve
