View Full Version : User unable to change Password

Nik Alleyne
Good day,
I have created a couple of users and specified "Users must change password
at next logon". Now when the user is prompted to change his/her password
after changing it, they are being told they do not have enough rights to
change their password. Can someone help me with this pls.

Thx
Nik

Is this the only user with this problem? If not, then look at your Domain Security Policy and the Local Security Policy (User's Workstation) to make sure that your "minimum password age" requirements are being met. You must also find out if your user is following your password filter policy while creating his password. If this does not work, I have some other ideas

Check first in their account properties that they are not configured for " user
cannot change password". Other issues in a domain could be if the security option on
domain controllers for additional restrictions for anonymous connections is set to "
no access without explicit anonymous permissions" or that the everyone group does not
have the change password permissions for the user object in AD. --- Steve
