hi! Any idea how to disable windows2000/xp games through group policy in the domain?

Maarten
Hi, I'm not really a pro so you might want to wait for a decent answer.

But isn't it possible to use software restriction in your GP?
(computers>windows>security>software restriction> extra rules)
Make new hashrules based on the exe's of the games.

We simply set the ACLs on the files so that only admins have NTFS rights to
the game executables ... It's a double whammy, that way :-) ...

In GPO under Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings |
File System is where we set the ACLs ...

That is a good solution Maarten, however unfortunealty W2K does not work
with Software Restriction Policies. Ron's idea and or adding the
executeables names to the disallowed list of Windows Applications in user
configuration/administrative templates/system is about the best you can do
in W2K which still can be effective. --- Steve

Thanks for the info - nice idea. A better one is to not make programs you
don't want on the box a part of the install.

Ron Bernier
But, you can't do that through group policy as the original poster asked ...
