DO NOT LOAD MICROSOFT PATCH MS04-011 if you are running
Norton Internet Security or PCanywhere or you won't be
able to access this computer from another computer. I
spent almost 2 hours with Microsoft and they couldn't fix
the problem. I had to format my hard drive. Please
unload all norton products before you load the patch.
Also somebody suggested to unload the patch after I
installed it, this only gave my computer several windows
errors that Microsoft was able to fix.

Hmm... How do you know norton internet security or PC Anywhere was the
problem? Which one was the problem?

Many people are I'm sure already running those programs with the MS04-011
patch, or else we would have heard more complaints from other people.

Which versions of these products?

I'm quite happily running PCA 10 along with the MS04-011 patch.

On one of my Exch2000 servers running Symantec MS for Exchange 4.0, my
services started hanging. Kind of I was trying to start any service and
didn't go through. After rebooting the server problem still persisted.

I had to uninstall/install new version of Symantec and everything was fixed.
My only observation is that I cannot guarantee the problem was caused by
this 837532 patch though, because I recall somebody told me they saw that
problem happening before on one of our servers. I called Symantec and they
said it is a known issue that patch for blaster worm (Kb841746, if I recall
# correctly) caused such services not starting/stopping issue.
